Five public artworks were commissioned and located throughout the Queens Riverside complex, expressing the themes of the Swan River, parklands, water and natural and cultural heritage of the locality.

The artwork in the collection is created by local West Australian artists Stuart Green,Jennie Nayton, Anne Neil and Kidogo Artists Team; the latter being a team of three female artists who combined the creativity and inspiration of their Noongar, Gik, Yamatji, Irish and Australian heritages.

Patterns of Movement, Anne Neil

Anne Neils, sculptures were inspired by the movement and shapes of jellyfish in the Swan River, gracefully arching as they expand and contract through the water.  The main six metre high sculpture comprising circular and oval shapes is constructed from marine-grade aluminum, silver with patterning.

Vertical Reflections, Anne Neil

This 9.2 metre high sculpture is a configuration of fluid read-like forms stretching upwards.  The sculpture, initially inspired by the movement of river water, matured into a group of 'surface ripples'; articulated individual shapes, arranged vertically, that appear to grow purposefully.

The sculpture is made of marine-grade aluminum; silver with patterning.

Venation - Twin Patterned, Stuart Green and Jennie Nayton

Green and Nayton's wall-base sculpture was originally inspired by intricately patterned leaves from the local riverside environment.  Clean and crisp, with softer organic quality layered within, the electro-polished stainless steel forms reflect the environment around them during daylight hours and exhibit their filigree nature through back lighting at night.

Swan River Life, Joanna Robertson, Wendy Hayden and Deborah Bonar

This contemporary artwork by the Kidogo Artists Team weaves personal stories and memories of the Noongar people's historic use of the Swan River, and their strong connection to this land and water.

The painted design has been photographs and printed, then fused onto multiple glass panels.

Surface (array) Variations, Stuart Green and Jennie Nayton

For this wall-based artwork, Green and Nayton have undertaken investigations into the visual play of wind and water, with all its subtle shimmer and flows.  The design is created from curved lancelet shaped stainless steel 'glint' forms, which are set in an array of slowly alternating angles and directions until they are sitting almost perpendicular to the wall before flowing back flat again.
